Throwback: Light Festival 2023

The Light Festival is over and it was a big succes. Not only the beautiful lighting but also our bike parkings where a hit!

21 000 bikes

Over the 5 days, nearly 21 000 bikes were parked in the three additional bike parking areas. We can therefore speak of a success.

• Bike parking Coyendans was particularly popular, with over 10 200 bikes parked there.
• In the Sint-Michiels car park, two floors were temporarily transformed into a bike park. Just over 8 500 people used it.
• The bike parking at DOK was also used but somewhat less, nearly 2 200 bikes were parked there.

Special separate racks were provided for people with outsized bikes such as cargo bikes.

Positive effect stewards

The three extra bike parkings were manned between 5:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.. This had a positive effect on the security and the sense of security.
The stewards ensured that all bikes were placed smoothly, which resulted in more bike places. Thanks for the many nice comments!

We also offered "Air and Grease" at the bike parkings, which could count on a lot of enthusiasm.
