With a theft coverage, you only pay an excess if your bike is stolen, instead of the full deprecition value of the bicylce.
💡 Important: your theft coverage expires when your rental contract ends.
Has your contract expired? Then you are no longer insured against theft and you will have to pay the full deprecition value of the bike in case of theft.
Student Bike: insurance excess: 90 euro – depreciation value: 362 euro
Electric Student bike basic / comfort: insurance excess: 401 euro – depreciation value: 1602 euro
What if your bicycle is stolen?
- File a report with the local police within 5 work days
- and go to the Bike point of De Fietsambassade where you rented the bicycle. Take your report certificate and keys with you.
- Do you have theft coverage? If so, you only pay the deductible. Otherwise, you pay the loss value of the bike.
If your bicycle is found during the duration of rental agreement or no later than 6 months after the end of the rental agreement, the paid exemption or value fee will be payed back. Possible repair costs will be paid by the renter.
